I recently purchased a Beretta PX4 from the Bass Pro in Oklahoma City. I took the gun to the range two days later to fire it.

The pistol stove-topped every other shot and even try to double feed itself a few times. I tried two different types of Ammo, cleaned it, etc. The gunsmith at the range said that it was obviously defective. The same day I took it back to Bass Pro and told them the situation.

They told me that they could not exchange it because "it had be fired"! How anyone could identify a defective gun without shooting it is beyond me? So now I have to wait 3 - 6 weeks to have them send it in to have Beretta look at it!!! I purchased a defective product and I'm being punished for it?!?

The manager really couldn't care less.

Never buy a gun through Bass Pro! Never!

Monetary Loss: $540.

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

I find it funny that because there is "no mark up" a retailer is not supposed to stand behind their product. Regardless if they lost money it is the responsibility to make someone happy with their purchase in order to retain them as a customer.

I have a defective Sig that I am about to bring back. Hopefully they do the right thing.

I have purchased a shotgun and two handguns from Bass Pro Shops and have not had a problem. Unfortunately, a gun is a different product than most. If it is fired, it is considered used and manufacturers want to repair it.

Guns for the most part can be repaired without problems, unfortunately, you bout one that was obviously built with flaws.

The seller can only warrant a product from what a manufacturer tells them under that particular warranty. In the future, ask the seller how a problem will be handled if there is one, repair or replacement. Know before you buy!

i'm pretty sure when you buy a firearm from them that before the firearm is paid for you have to sign a paper that states "all firearm sales are final" and the clerk tells you that if there is a problem with it you can bring it back to them and they will send it off for repair. guns have very very little markup in retail stores like this and if they took back every one that was defective (which is a manufacturer issue btw) they would never make any money.
